Also I added a section where they wrote word associations ( the first things that come to mind) when dealing with concepts like Civil Rights Movement, Immigration, Bi lingual.
Students gave negative and positive responses to these terms,
For example, Bi- linual was associated with making more money at a job.
Immigrations was associated with terms like wetback and illegal aliens.
The second half of the assesment was a list of SAT vocab words that the students will be responsible for knowing at the end of the residency.
I was taken aback by this!!
I didn't meet with my class this week because Ms. Hamilton took her Grandma to the hospital. We decided it was best as a rule not to go on days the class has a sub... because we all knows what happens when there is a substitute.
